If you’ve spent any time at all perusing a Norwex catalog or reading up on this stuff called Norwex, one thing likely keeps popping up… BacLock®.
What is BacLock®?
Many Norwex cloths (but not all!) are made with micro silver threads woven throughout the fibers. Silver is naturally antibacterial and has long been used in hospital settings and incorporated into medicines to fight bacteria.
BacLock® is the term used to indicate which cloths contain this micro silver antibacterial agent.
How does it work?
As a wet cloth with BacLock® begins to dry, the silver goes to work inhibiting bacterial odor, mold, and mildew growth, allowing the cloth to essentially self-cleanse within 24 hours. This is why you can use the same cloth several times before needing to throw it in the laundry!
BacLock® does not turn your cloth into an antibacterial wipe. Instead, the cloth cleans surfaces by picking up and locking in bacteria and germs. BacLock® then works within the cloth to prevent bacteria from multiplying.
As a self-professed germophobe, I appreciate the peace of mind BacLock® gives. Knowing that bacteria is not festering in my cloths or transferring to other surfaces while I clean allows me to experience a much calmer cleaning routine.
